P-Track Satellite Viewer App Reviews

On opening one often gets a "Warning no data for selected Satellite". It the removes ALL controls and one sits with an app which is a "brick". Cant get back to a menu, cant select any other Sat. :-). If you are lucky enough to hit "i" before it bricks, you can scroll and select. App seems okay then. Overall: Disappointed, uninstalled in minutes.

From Info setting, select Ionosphere, then "Ionoshperic" (miss-spelled) can be seen on the screen. (See 2nd preview image from left)

This app very intersting to find Sat

The new update doesnt work. I tried launching it a few times on my iPhone 4S and it locked up and then shut down.

I was a customer of the previous version and the artwork in 1.9 is so much better! The App works fine for me.. Can you please add notifications of ISS flyovers?

Great ideas in this app! I like the way you can move the globe and see where the satellites are at! Can you add amateur SATS?

I hear this app was built by a SBAS engineer for his own use. Works for me! Now I know exactly which patch of sky to shoot at to bring down those ornery gps satellites. Yeehaw!

Broke support for iOS 4. Now worthless to me. Backwards compatibility is something most apps usually have to not alienate customers.

This is a great tool: [a] it illustrates the orbits of the GPS satellites, [b] gives their geocentric coordinates and [c] orbital parameters. I certainly will use it in the classroom to demonstrate underlying concepts of the GPS system in introductory GIS/Stats courses. It runs very stable on my iPad (3rd generation with GPS chip). However, to make P-Track fully functional as a teaching tool, it must provide some hidden information:[a] a down-loadable log-file file over a reasonable time frame should capture [b] the displayed data for all GPS satellites and [c] some additional data such as the satellites and the receiver times. This would allow demonstrating simple to advanced stochastic GPS calculations and error assessments. If you have two GPS equipped iPads, you could even start playing around with differential correction.

Otherwise just okay for satellite tracking.

Doesnt work on iPhone 4 running latest iOS 7. Immediately crashes after title screen.

I use this all the time to watch where sats are and helping with set up of sats.

as a surveyor I rarely use the App. But when I occasionally need to do Static GPS and am having trouble it’s great to view the GPS sat’s and figure out why I’m not getting a lock on my old L1 receivers. Thank You for continuing to update the app.
